The way we work has changed dramatically over the last few months as we all adjust to the ‘new normal’ in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
We understand that many of our customers are still working from home or slowly moving back to working onsite, but that doesn’t mean learning and training has to stop. To address the growing demand for an alternative approach, we have developed live online training courses that bring our instructors to you via Microsoft Teams video classrooms. This allows delegates to learn the theory part of the subject, without the need for social contact and also helps to save the need for travel and time loss costs.
What is a live online course?
Our live online courses are delivered live by one of our certified, experienced instructors. As the course is live, delegates can interact and engage in real-time with instructors, with the content being shared to their screens.
Instructors will be delivering the course from one of our training centre classrooms, in real-time. Delegates can ask questions and chat with other participants throughout the course. In addition to this, our instructors will also be sharing polls and quizzes delegates can take part in throughout the course to check their understanding.
How will the live online classes work?
Ahead of the course, we will post a full colour printed manual to each delegate and the links they require to take part in the training. With a maximum of 10 delegates per course, participants log into the course online from home, or wherever they are, with secure passcodes which admit only those with access.
The instructor appears on screen along with the delegates’ name and an interactive presentation. Delegates also appear on screen, via a camera, and communicate by microphone and messaging. All of this is controlled by the instructor.

Practical exercises
The first course we have developed is our Live Online Medium Risk Confined Space course. This is a 2 day course and the first day is delivered as Live Online Training.
Day 2 does require delegates to travel to one of our 7 training centres to complete the practical elements of the course and do the written assessments. We will organise a date and location for the second practical day with the delegate when they book – this does need to be done within 2 weeks of the live online training day so that the information learnt is still fresh.
