Steve Davies, Assistant Manager at MRS Training & Rescue’s South Wales centre, brings a wealth of experience in discipline, leadership, and safety. Before joining MRS in 2018, Steve served as a prison officer for seven years, where he maintained order, ensured the smooth running of regimes, and qualified as a hostage negotiator. As part of the Tornado Riot Team, Steve honed his crisis management skills, preparing him for high-pressure environments.
Steve joined MRS Training & Rescue as a Rescue Officer, quickly demonstrating his capability and earning promotions to Team Leader and, subsequently, Assistant Manager within just three years. He is BG4 trained and actively pursuing his NEBOSH accreditation, Mines Rescue Officer qualification, and Chartered Management Institute accreditation.
Steve’s standout career moment was leading a live rescue operation in 2019, where the MRS team responded to an urgent call from a client site, showcasing the critical impact of their expertise. Now, he combines his operational and leadership skills to oversee rescue services and deliver specialist training, ensuring safety remains a priority in every workplace.

"Just a few lines to express my thanks and appreciation for the team that attended Celsa Melt Shop last week. Steve Davies, Martin Scoot, Lee Jones and Jason Evans attended and carried out a demonstration of the Rescue Plan we had worked on. Steve and the team displayed the utmost professionalism throughout the day, and since the day I first contacted Steve I have received great support, help and advice from him, with Steve and Paul Carey coming to the Melt Shop to go over the cranes with me. An absolute credit to your company, and this experience has ensured Mines Rescue is at the forefront of my mind when it comes to all things Height, Rescue and Confined Space related." - Darren Jones, Health and Safety Advisor, Melt Shop, Celsa Manufacturing UK
