Easily accessible across Hampshire and the South, our Southampton training centre offers hands-on confined space, working at height, PASMA, and STCW courses. These are delivered by experts, using purpose-built facilities.
About Southampton
Our Southampton training centre offers a diverse range of facilities tailored for professional development and safety training. Featuring four dedicated training rooms, we ensure ample space for immersive learning experiences.
Confined Space Facilities:
Our Southampton centre features a meticulously designed confined space facility with:
- 5 rooms
- 11 tunnels
- 3 platforms up to 6 metres long.
The network of crawl spaces and entry points allows for bespoke training, with the option to add artificial smoke for enhanced realism.
Working at Height Facilities:
Standing 9 metres tall, our indoor scaffold system is equipped with:
- Ladders
- Trap doors
- Guardrails
- A sloping roof
- A flat roof with open edges
- A freestanding tower
It supports a variety of training scenarios, including suspended rescue, casualty stretcher rescue, and safe work at height techniques.
Maritime Training Facilities:
We provide purpose-built facilities for STCW training, including a two-story outdoor fire rig for fire safety drills and a dry life raft training area for maritime certification.
PASMA Facilties:
Our mobile tower system enables industry-standard PASMA training tailored to various workplace environments.
By Car:
From the M27 (southbound), leave the motorway at junction 3 and take the third exit at the roundabout onto the M271. After 600m, at the roundabout take the second exit on to the A3057. After approximately 1.5miles, at the roundabout take the second exit, to the right, onto the A27 Luzborough Lane. Finally, after 0.5miles turn right into Abbey Park Industrial Estate, where MRS is located 300m on the right.
By Train:
From Southampton train station, take a connection to Romsey train station which is approximately 3 stops/15 minutes away. From Romsey train station, the centre is 2 miles away.

Enclosed space courses
Our enclosed space training facility faithfully recreates real-world conditions, enabling candidates to acquire essential skills through hands-on, practical exercises.
All our confined space and enclosed space courses are designed to teach candidates:
- Safe enclosed and confined space entry
- How to work in a safe manner
- How to escape in emergency situations
We offer all 5 modules of the MCA regulated STCW basic safety training required for individuals embarking on commercial sea-going vessels. These are:
- Elementary First Aid (EFA)
- Personal Survival Techniques (PST)
- Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (FPFF)
- Personal Safety & Social Responsibility (PSSR)
- Proficiency in Security Awareness (PSA)
Each course can be taken individually or combined in our convenient STCW Basic Safety Training Package that covers all 5 qualifications over 5 days.
We also offer the 2-day Basic Safety training Update Package and the 1-day Updated Proficiency in Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting course.
We are well-known as one of the UK’s leading confined space training providers – and from our Southampton centre, we provide a wide range of confined spaces courses including low, medium and high risk training.
We also provide other confined space services including confined space consultancy – a service where we come to your site, factory, office or ship to identify any risk you may face and any training you need to be compliant.
Additionally, we offer a rescue cover service, deploying a dedicated rescue team to your business as needed.
We also have towable training units which allow the teaching of all our confined spaces and working at height courses at any location.
