We are committed to supporting communities across the world. Below are two examples of projects MRS teams have been involved with – both demonstrate our continued belief in giving back and helping those less fortunate.
The Elephant Pump
To keep our teams hydrated – we decided to invest in water coolers. For every water cooler we purchased from AquAid, a donation was automatically made to the Africa Trust, an AquAid funded charity.
This resulted in a water well being installed in Africa, affectionately named the Elephant Pump in the local area. The pump provides safe, clean drinking water to hundreds of people and we are delighted to have contributed.
To date AquAid have built over 8,000 water pumps across parts of Zimbabwe, Malawi and Liberia and have donated in excess of £13 million to charity – an incredible achievement! Watch our short awareness video about the work AquAid do here.
“We’ve been in the business of water provision for over 20 years, supplying a broad range of high-quality water coolers and drinking water to customers throughout the UK. We value our customers and it’s great that by using Aquaid Water Coolers, MRS have helped bring life-giving water to thousands of people every day.” Fern Shaw, from Aquaid
Christ Faith Foster Home in Accra
Our international work to provide confined space rescue cover has taken us to Ghana. Whilst there, we discovered that some of the people who worked for our client supported a local orphanage – the Christ Faith Foster Home, in Accra.
We decided we had to help – so one of our trainers, who runs a local football team in Fife, kindly donated football kits and boots to the orphanage. MRS Training & Rescue also donated £1,000 – which the orphanage school used to purchase 8 laptops.
The children were delighted to receive the donations. The laptops will be put to good use replacing outdated computer equipment. It was lovely to put smiles on the faces of the children.
When I heard about the orphanage I wanted to help. I run a local children’s football team and we were changing our team kit. Lots of the old kit was like new as the kids grow so quickly, so I thought the children in the orphanage would love it. It was great to see them all enjoying trying it on!
