This half day COSHH Awareness course is designed to introduce delegates to dangers from exposure to substances that may be hazardous to health and the action to be taken to prevent or minimise exposure to these substances.

This half day course covers the latest legislation with regard to COSHH including risk assessment, signage of chemicals, employer and employee responsibilities. It also covers the storage, handling, use and personal protective equipment pertaining to chemicals.

At the end of the course delegates should understand:

  • The law relating to hazardous substances in the workplace
  • How risk assessments contribute to the safe use of hazardous substances in the workplace
  • The precautions and procedures necessary to ensure the risks associated with hazardous substances are properly controlled

This course is taught by highly experienced instructors – all of whom have substantial knowledge and teaching experience.

Delegates must successfully complete a multiple-choice written test to pass this course. After passing this course, delegates will receive an industry recognised MRS Training & Rescue certificate.

Certification lasts for 3 years.

This is a classroom based course and there will be 1 trainer to 10 candidates (1:10).

What does COSHH stand for?

COSHH stands for Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations.

What time does the course start and finish?

Courses start at 8.45am and finishes at about 1.00pm

Do I need to bring PPE?

No as this is a classroom based course.

What is included in the price?

Course materials and a hot drink

How long does it take for certificates to arrive?

MRS certificates are emailed within a week of the course being completed.

When will I receive my course instructions?

Joining instructions are sent by email – which are usually received on the same day but always within 48 hours of booking.

Can I change my booking?

Yes, free parking is available at all our UK training centres for course candidates.
