GWO WIND TURBINES FIRST AID REFRESHER

1 day course
Theory 240 minutes
Practical 240 minutes

NB: Breaks for refreshments are included in this overall total

Book from £130

This First Aid Refresher course is part of the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) training portfolio and is specifically designed for those who work in the global wind and renewable energy industries. This course is for those who have completed the GWO first aid training previously and want to renew their course as it is due to expire.

This course will provide delegates with the most up-to-date, best-practice applications and methods for administering first aid within the renewables and wind turbine sectors. This course allows delegates to remain safe and compliant with GWO first aid training.

This course is suitable for those working on onshore and offshore on wind turbines.

Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore, candidates for this type of training must be able to understand and speak the English language.

Those who attend this First Aid Refresher course will receive training which refreshes their initial GWO First Aid training – including how to take action in an emergency, how to perform basic life support (including using an external defibrillation unit) and how to deal with choking, shock, seizure and casualty handling.

After completing this course, delegates should be able to:

  • Understand the importance of safely and correctly carrying out First Aid in accordance with legislative requirements and European Resuscitation Council (ERC) Guidelines
  • Identify and explain the normal function, normal signs and symptoms of serious and minor injuries and illness related to the human body
  • Demonstrate understanding and correct order of management in emergency situations in a wind turbine work environment
  • Demonstrate correct use of lifesaving First Aid using the Primary Survey, Airways - Breathing - Circulation (A - B - C)
  • Demonstrate correct use of an AED
  • Demonstrate correct use of Ordinary First Aid, the Secondary Survey
  • Demonstrate correct use of First Aid equipment in First Aid scenarios

I’ve just done my first aid refresher and wanted to say I’ve done first aid for 30 years and your instructor is probably the best I’ve had for learning the subject. Put it over really well and made it enjoyable.

Our trainer of choice for working at height and wind turbine training and rescue is MRS Training & Rescue, and I have no hesitation in recommending them.
