GWO WIND TURBINES FIRST AID REFRESHER
Breaks for refreshments are included in this overall total
This First Aid Refresher course is part of the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) training portfolio and is specifically designed for those who work in the global wind and renewable energy industries. This course is for those who have completed the GWO first aid training previously and want to renew their course as it is due to expire.
This course will provide delegates with the most up-to-date, best-practice applications and methods for administering first aid within the renewables and wind turbine sectors. This course allows delegates to remain safe and compliant with GWO first aid training.
This course is suitable for those working on onshore and offshore on wind turbines.
Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore, candidates for this type of training must be able to understand and speak the English language.
Those who attend this First Aid Refresher course will receive training which refreshes their initial GWO First Aid training – including how to take action in an emergency, how to perform basic life support (including using an external defibrillation unit) and how to deal with choking, shock, seizure and casualty handling.
After completing this course, delegates should be able to:
- Act independently in recognising, assessing, and prioritising the need for basic first aid and providing lifesaving first aid until the casualty can be handed over to the next level of care in case of an incident in the wind turbine industry/WTG environment.
- Take responsibility for recognising their limitations as a basic first aider, calling for help and enable evacuation off the casualty in case of an incident in the wind turbine industry/WTG environment.

This course is taught by experienced and highly trained instructors – all of whom have completed GWO assessor awards.
Most of our trainers are real-life rescuers. This experience allows them to bring courses to life with real stories from an operational and practical perspective.
On successful completion of the course, we upload details to the WINDA portal: Global Wind Industry Training Records Database and delegates can access this using their WINDA registration number.

Very good course with a very knowledgeable instructor
I’ve just done my first aid refresher and wanted to say I’ve done first aid for 30 years and your instructor is probably the best I’ve had for learning the subject. Put it over really well and made it enjoyable.
Our trainer of choice for working at height and wind turbine training and rescue is MRS Training & Rescue, and I have no hesitation in recommending them.
