GWO WIND TURBINES ENHANCED FIRST AID
Breaks for refreshments are included in this overall total
This Enhanced First Aid (EFA) course is part of the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) training portfolio, which is specifically designed for those who work in the global wind and renewable energy industries.
On this course, delegates will learn enhanced first aid skills which will allow them to give assistance in remote areas, using advanced emergency equipment and teleconsultation until the emergency services arrive.
If you already hold valid a GWO First Aid certificate – you can opt to take the shorter Enhanced First Aid Refresher 2-day course.
Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore, candidates for this type of training must be able to understand and speak the English language.
This GWO Enhanced First Aid course will teach delegates how to administer safe, effective and immediate first aid – so they are able to assist and save lives in remote areas, where it may take longer for a professional emergency rescue team to arrive.
On this course, delegates will learn to use more advanced first equipment, and once they complete this course should be able to:
- Understand legislation, risks and hazards in the area in which they work
- Understand human anatomy
- Know how to manage an incident
- Administer lifesaving and enhanced first aid using primary and secondary survey
- Understand pain management and further possible medication
- Be able to practice first aid techniques on some selected scenarios
This course is highly practical – and delegates will be assessed throughout the course.

This course is taught by experienced and highly trained instructors – all of whom have completed GWO assessor awards.
The majority of our instructors are also real-life rescuers. This means they have real emergency first aid experiences they can recall and use as part of the training – bringing it to life.
On successful completion of the course, we upload details to the WINDA portal: Global Wind Industry Training Records Database and delegates can access this using their WINDA registration number.

Feedback from experienced candidates that MRS session on First Aid was the best they had attended. Connection with First Aid and incidents in the work-place excellent along with presentation skills.
By far the most professional delivery of a first aid course I have attended. Excellent knowledge and experience demonstrated by the trainer. The course was delivered in a professional but approachable way.
