This course is for anyone working in a high risk confined space and for those who need to act as a member of a rescue and recovery team in confined spaces.

The Level 2 award is for those who work in high risk confined spaces when a specified risk cannot be eliminated or controlled to an acceptable level, and when respiratory protection (breathing apparatus) is required. NC4 classification. The Level 3 award covers how to be a member of a team for rescue and recovery of casualties from confined spaces should an emergency arise and will include the use of breathing apparatus (RPE).

It is available as a City & Guilds Working in High Risk Confined Spaces Level 2 Award 6160-03 and a Level 3 Working as a Member of a Rescue and Recovery Team in Confined Spaces 6160-08 award, for an additional fee of £120.

Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore, candidates for this type of training must be able to understand and speak the English language.

The course combines the Level 2 High Risk and Level 3 Rescue and Recovery awards into one week.

During this highly practical course, delegates will experience an environment containing one or more of the specified risks as identified in the Confined Space regulations.

The course covers entering and working safely in high risk confined spaces whilst wearing breathing apparatus. It includes risk assessments, action plans, permits to work, monitoring / entry equipment, and how to deal with and perform a rescue from an emergency situation should it arise. It also includes using specialist detection and resuscitation equipment.

Superb training facility with highly qualified instructors, nothing was too much trouble, the best confined space training I have ever done (and I've done a few). Oh, and they lay on a quality spread as well, highly recommended.
