This Medium Risk Confined Spaces Requalification course is for those who have completed a medium risk confined spaces course in the past and now require re-certification.

This course is a combination of theory and practical training. The practical parts of this course are taught in simulated confined space environments, such as indoor tunnels – and topics covered include safe entry, emergency procedures, and using breathing apparatus.

Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore, candidates for this type of training must be able to understand and speak the English language.

This course provides delegates with up-to-date knowledge and skills for working safely in a confined space.

This includes:

  • Preparing to work safely in medium risk confined spaces
  • Entering and exiting confined spaces safely
  • Preparing and using escape breathing apparatus (in accordance with manufacturers' specifications)
  • Using equipment and tools safely (in accordance with manufacturers' specifications)
  • Following procedures and dealing with emergencies

This course is taught by highly trained and experienced instructors. All our trainers have real-life experience of working in hazardous environments – which allows them to understand the issues and working conditions candidates might face.

Many of our trainers are also real-life rescuers who attend emergencies across the UK and around the world.

To successfully complete this course, delegates will need to pass a written test and all practical assessments.

Candidates can choose to receive an MRS Training & Rescue certificate or – for an additional fee, a City & Guilds 6150 certificate.

The Working in Medium Risk Confined Space Requalification course aligns with the City & Guilds Level 2 Award 6150-02 - Water & 6150-52 - Non-Water.

Those who complete this course will also be deemed competent in Medium Risk Top Man/Woman Non-Entrant which aligns with Working in Medium Risk Confined Spaces (Top Man/Woman) (Non-Entrant) Level 2 Award (6150-06 - Water & 6150-56 - Non-Water).

Certification lasts for 3 years.
