This QualSafe Mental Health First Aid course grants a level 2 award in Understanding Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace (RQF) — a formally accredited qualification recognised nationally. The aim of our mental health first aid training is to empower individuals by providing comprehensive knowledge about prevalent mental health conditions, including depression, stress, anxiety, eating disorders, self-harm, and suicide.

It aims to equip learners with essential skills such as active listening and guidance on directing individuals to professional support when facing challenges. Ultimately, this mental health in the workplace training and qualification seeks to contribute to the reduction of stigma surrounding mental health issues within work environments.

Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore, candidates for this type of training must be able to understand and speak the English language.

On this mental health first aid course, candidates will develop a greater understanding of common mental health conditions, as well as how best to support and guide someone to professional help.

On this course, candidates will cover:

  • Understanding mental health and its importance
  • Identifying the roles and responsibilities of those associated with mental health in the workplace
  • Legislation associated with mental health in the workplace
  • Promoting positive mental health in the workplace
  • Common mental health conditions, including:
    • Work-related stress
    • Anxiety
    • Eating disorders
    • Depression
    • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
    • Obsessive Compulsive disorder (OCD)
    • Phobias
    • Bipolar
    • Psychosis
    • Suicide
  • Identifying key features within a mental health first aid at work action plan and listening techniques

Our mental health first aid course is taught by highly experienced trainers. Throughout the course, our instructors deliver an interactive and immersive learning journey. This will involve video, case studies and real-life instances of mental health challenges, engaging in workbook exercises, participating in group dialogues, and an array of additional dynamic learning methods.

During this course, delegates will achieve the Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace (RQF) qualification.

We have been using MRS for over 20 years and have been most impressed their professionalism and flexibility that they have shown for First Aid training. Evaluation received from participants and managers has been very positive and we would always be more than happy to recommend them for First Aid training courses.
