This Level 3 Rescue & Recovery from Confined Spaces course is for those who undertake rescue work, as part of their role – and focuses on rescue from confined spaces under non-routine or emergency conditions. On this course, delegates will learn how to remove casualties from confined spaces, safely.

Those who wish to attend this course must have completed a High Risk Confined Spaces course.

Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore, candidates for this type of training must be able to understand and speak the English language.

This Level 3 Rescue & Recovery from Confined Spaces course is taught via demonstrations, lectures and practical learning. Delegates will learn practical skills using industry equipment, in simulated confined spaces environments – such as tunnels. This includes learning how to safely enter and work in confined spaces, wearing respiratory protective equipment (RPE), locate casualties, treat injuries, load casualties on to a stretcher and transport them out of confined spaces.

Topics covered on this course include:

  • Use appropriate knowledge for carrying out emergency rescue and recovery of casualties from confined spaces
  • Apply relevant industry standards for carrying out emergency rescue and recovery of casualties from confined spaces
  • Prepare to work safely in confined spaces under emergency conditions
  • Enter and exit confined spaces safely
  • Prepare and use appropriate respiratory protective equipment (RPE) in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications
  • Use rescue equipment safely and in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions
  • Follow procedures and work safely
  • Deal with emergencies
  • Use appropriate behaviour for carrying out emergency rescue and recovery of casualties from confined spaces

“An excellent training venue where I attended for C&G accredited confined space training. Instructors knowledge and delivery were great, and whilst I have been doing this type of work on and off for best part of 30 years I still found I had something to learn and improve upon each day.” Darren Pick, Head of Health Safety Environment and Quality UK, France, Ireland and Offshore, Nippon Gases

“I won't move our confined spaces training to anywhere other than MRS Training and Rescue. Extremely happy with the service and I receive excellent feedback from all individuals that attend.” Emma Jack

“You really must use MRS - they have superb facilities for all aspects of health & safety training (especially confined spaces) and are really helpful and supportive. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending them!“ Warren Coates
