Learn how to inspect & fit safety harnesses

Safety Harness Training Course

This highly practical course teaches delegates how to inspect and fit a full body safety harness correctly. This course also covers an overview of fall protection and restraint systems. Course candidates are taught using our specially designed work at height training facilities - and will be able to practice the following:

  • Wear suitable PPE correctly
  • Know that PPE and PFPS is maintained and safe to use
  • Use and store all work equipment and PPE correctly
  • What to do if PPE or PFPS equipment if found to be modified, defective or does not meet the relevant standard
  • Locate suitable anchor points
  • How to check work area for obstructions etc

The theory elements of this course cover:

  • Legislative requirements for working safely at height
  • Risks associated with working at height and how these are controlled
  • Know the types of Personal Fall Protection Systems used when working at height
  • How to deal with damaged or defective equipment
  • Know principal requirements for dealing with an incident

Course delegates are continually assessed during the course and will complete a short written paper. In addition to this, they will also complete an assessed climb.
