GWO WIND TURBINES WORKING AT HEIGHT WITH MANUAL HANDLING REFRESHER

1 day course
Theory 180 minutes
Practical 300 minutes

Breaks for refreshments are included in this overall total

This Working at Height with Manual Handling GWO approved refresher course is for those who have completed the 2 day GWO Working at Height with Manual Handling Course, or the standalone GWO Working at Height & Rescue and GWO Manual Handling courses previously, and want to revalidate them.

This course is highly practical and includes training on purpose-built working at height facilities.

Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore, candidates for this type of training must be able to understand and speak the English language.

This 1 day Working at Height with Manual Handling GWO refresher course reviews and builds on knowledge and skills gained from the full course. It refreshes delegates on the theory and practical skills, like using basic PPE and how to perform a basic rescue from heights safely – in environments such as wind turbines. It also includes manual handling risk reduction techniques.

The training includes how to use a safe system of work, equipment selection and inspection, the use of tools, risk assessment, emergency procedures and how to evacuate and rescue using industry standing equipment. It also covers manual handling techniques and ensuring delegates gain an understanding of the importance of carrying out work duties in a safe manner – and in accordance with legislative requirements (of their geographical location).

Delegates must complete a minimum of 4 working at height scenarios successfully to pass this course – after this, we upload details to the WINDA portal: Global Wind Industry Training Records Database and delegates can access this using their WINDA registration number.

A very well executed course by Jason with good simulated scenarios both in the training room and outside on the rig. Step by step assembly to verify equipment and scenarios understood. Felt safe throughout the course with very good supervisions by Jason.
Michael Deans, WSP UK Ltd, Training at Knottingley
As specialists in height and awkward access projects, it is important our technicians and engineers undergo continuous training to achieve the high standards required in our chosen fields. Our trainer of choice for working at height and wind turbine training and rescue is MRS Training & Rescue and I have no hesitation in recommending them.
