Rooftop Access - Working at Heights Training

Working at height can be very dangerous and people should not undertake it without having the correct training / competences; resources and paperwork to enable them to undertake the work activity safely

Training course gives learners knowledge and understanding relevant to working at height. It will cover ladders, access and egress routes, roofs and sloping surfaces, fall prevention and fall arrest systems and relevant PPE for working at height. The course will also offer a general overview of MEWPS, mobile and fixed scaffolding.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this course delegates will be able to

  • Understand the main principle of health, safety, environmental legislation and approved codes of practice for working at height
  • Know the hazards and risks associated with work at height
  • Know the methods of reducing risk and injury including the hierarchy of controls relating to working at height
  • Know the types of personal fall protection systems and the differences between fall arrest, work restraint and work positioning (including anchors and lifelines)
  • Give an appreciation of procedures for rescue, emergency at height or other incidents
  • Have an understanding of accessing flat / sloping roofs and an appreciation of fragile roofs and RF equipment
