This Level 3 award is for anyone who needs to work as a member of a rescue and recovery team in confined spaces. It includes preparing to carry out emergency activities, entering and exiting confined spaces safely, using emergency equipment, casualty recovery and handling devices in accordance with manufacturers' specifications, rescuing and recovering casualties, following procedures, and working safely.

It is available as a City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Working as a Member of a Rescue and Recovery Team in Confined Spaces 6160-08 for an additional fee of £60.

All delegates must have completed a High Risk Confined Spaces course and hold a valid certificate - if completing the City &Guilds accredited course, this needs to be a City & Guilds certificate.

Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore, candidates for this type of training must be able to understand and speak the English language.

During this highly practical course, delegates will learn about job roles and responsibilities when working as part of a rescue and recovery team, along with procedures for dealing with emergencies, incidents and near misses. This includes the importance of following procedures and methods for rescue team working, and procedures for dealing with emergencies that could occur during rescue operations.

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Oversee safety checks of the entry and rescue team prior to works commencing
  • Enter and exit confined spaces safely as part of a rescue and recovery team
  • Use equipment and tools safely
  • Follow procedures and work safely as a member of a rescue and recovery team
  • Understand the principals of working as a part of a rescue and recovery team
  • Understand standard protocols for working in rescue and recovery teams

Really good training provider, the instructors are good and help you understand the course you are on. If you need any help just ask and they will do as much as they can to help get you through the training. Good facilities to train with. Thanks I will be back.

MRS are the best in the business. Relaxed atmosphere, fantastic knowledge. Trainers are confident to deliver and nothing too much trouble. During these difficult Covid times MRS have nailed it, plenty of space, no risk of sharing others apparatus - plenty to go around. I would not book my team on a course anywhere else. Always a pleasure to go back.
