About this course

This course covers:

  • Applying relevant legislative and industry confined spaces requirements
  • Developing risk assessments
  • Determining suitable control measures
  • Developing safe systems of work
  • Establishing effective procedures for using permits to work
  • Developing effective emergency arrangements
  • Implementing and maintaining effective arrangements for document storage, review and audit.

This course is taught by experienced instructors who are experienced at managing confined spaces. They have in depth knowledge on risk assessing work activity and developing safe systems of work.

The majority of our trainers are also real-life rescuers who have been part of emergency operations in the UK and around the world. 

Maximum number of candidates per course is 10:

  • Instructor ratios – 1:10
  • Assessment ratios – 1:10  

Certification/Accreditation

Delegates will need to pass a written assessment and produce two case studies that include a portfolio of work: a Risk Assessment, Method Statement, Permit to Work, Rescue Plan, and Peer Review.

After completing this course, delegates will receive a City & Guilds certificate.

For life – if continual professional development is maintained.

City & Guilds certificates are emailed as soon as we receive them (usually within 2 weeks).

Entry requirements

No – this course is classroom based, so no PPE is required.

Yes. This qualification requires delegates to have passed one of the following qualifications: -

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • City & Guilds Level 6 Occupational Health and Safety
  • NCRQ Level 6 Certificate in Applied Health and Safety
  • NVQ Level 5 or Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety Practice.

Delegates must provide photographic ID, such as a passport or driving licence, before completing any course. The legal name on the ID will appear on the certificate.

Yes. Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore English proficiency is required.

Great course, great venue, so much better than using that crappy portable tunnel thing, get rid of it. Instructor was so nice, put you at ease, great presentation work and made it easy to follow. Very enjoyable.

I attended Emergency First Aid Course. The trainer Dale was fab, made everything easy to understand and great knowledge too. Good to practice CPR, Defib and bandaging techniques too. Thanks very much - will definitely be back again when due.
