About this course
This GWO Enhanced First Aid course will teach delegates how to administer safe, effective and immediate first aid – so they are able to assist and save lives in remote areas, where it may take longer for a professional emergency rescue team to arrive.
On this course, delegates learn to use more advanced first equipment, and once they complete this course, will be able to:
- Understand legislation, risks and hazards in the area in which they work
- Understand human anatomy
- Know how to manage an incident
- Administer lifesaving and enhanced first aid using primary and secondary survey
- Understand pain management and further possible medication
- Be able to practice first aid techniques on some selected scenarios
This course is highly practical – and delegates will be assessed throughout the course.

This course is taught by experienced and highly trained instructors – all of whom have completed GWO assessor awards.
The majority of our instructors are also real-life rescuers. This means they have real emergency first aid experiences they can recall and use as part of the training – bringing it to life.

Certification/Accreditation
On successful completion of the course, we upload details to the WINDA portal: Global Wind Industry Training Records Database - and delegates can access this using their WINDA registration number.

Certificates are not issued, but on successful completion of the course, candidates will be accredited and details are uploaded to the WINDA portal: Global Wind Industry Training Records Database.

Entry requirements
Delegates must be physically fit for courses involving practical exercises and PPE. Key health conditions to consider include heart disease, respiratory issues (e.g., asthma), high blood pressure, epilepsy, vertigo, impaired limb function, uncorrected vision problems, and any substance dependencies.
If unsure, employers should arrange a medical assessment. We reserve the right to refuse training to those deemed medically unfit.
Delegates using manriding or fall arrest equipment must not exceed a weight limit of 127kg (20 stone). Customers may use their own equipment if the assessor confirms it is fit for purpose, properly calibrated, and compatible with course equipment.
Delegates must provide photographic ID, such as a passport or driving licence, before completing any course. The legal name on the ID will appear on the certificate.
In addition, all candidates are required to bring the following for practical exercises:
- Hard hat
- Workwear
- Safety footwear
- Gloves
Yes, delegates must register for WINDA: Global Wind Industry Training Records Database and bring along their registration number.
Yes. Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore English proficiency is required.
