This Emergency First Aid at Work course equips attendees to act confidently as first aiders in low-hazard workplaces, such as offices, shops or gyms. It covers basic life-saving techniques and minor injury and illness care.

About this course
This 1-day course includes lectures, demonstrations and practical training (including CPR and AED demonstrations).
Delegates on this course will learn how to take the correct actions in an emergency situation, how to perform basic life support (including using external defibrillation) and how to deal with choking, seizures, shock and bleeding. Learners are continually assessed and will also need to pass a written multiple-choice test paper.

- Understanding the role and responsibilities of a first aider
- How to assess an incident
- Providing first aid to an unresponsive casualty
- Providing first aid to a casualty who is choking
- Providing first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
- Knowing how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock
- Knowing how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries

This course is delivered by experienced, expert first aid instructors and assessors – all of whom have regulated training and assessor awards.
We teach a maximum of 12 candidates per course, and the trainer to candidate ratio is 1:12.
For practical training, we allocate one manikin per 4 candidates.
Certification/Accreditation
On successful completion of the course candidates will receive a Qualsafe awarding body certificate.

Qualsafe certificates are emailed as soon as we receive them (usually within 2 weeks).

Entry requirements
Delegates will need to be able to go to floor level to undertake CPR.
No - PPE is not required for this course.
Delegates must provide photographic ID, such as a passport or driving licence, before completing any course. The legal name on the ID will appear on the certificate.
Yes. Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore English proficiency is required.
