About this course

Those who attend this First Aid Refresher course receive training that refreshes their initial GWO First Aid training – including how to take action in an emergency, how to perform basic life support (including using an external defibrillation unit) and how to deal with choking, shock, seizure and casualty handling.

After completing this course, delegates should be able to:

  • Act independently in recognising, assessing, and prioritising the need for basic first aid.
  • Provide lifesaving first aid until the casualty can be handed over to the next level of care in case of an incident in the wind turbine industry/WTG environment.
  • Take responsibility for recognising their limitations as a basic first aider, understanding when to call for help and enable evacuation of the casualty in case of an incident in the wind turbine industry/WTG environment.
