About this course
On this GWO First Aid course, delegates learn the knowledge and practical skills they need to be confident first aiders at work, in a wind turbine environment.
This course combines lectures, demonstrations and practical tasks (i.e. demonstrating CPR using an AED). Learners are continually assessed during practical sessions.
After completing this course, delegates should be able to:
- Act independently in recognising, assessing, and prioritising the need for basic first aid.
- Provide lifesaving first aid until the casualty can be handed over to the next level of care in case of an incident in the wind turbine industry/WTG environment.
- Take responsibility for recognising their limitations as a basic first aider, understanding when to call for help and enable evacuation of the casualty in case of an incident in the wind turbine industry/WTG environment.

This course is taught by experienced and highly trained instructors – all of whom have completed GWO assessor awards.
