First Aid at Work Requalification Course

About this course

This 2-day first aid requalification course ensures that previously certified first aiders can continue to be proficient in essential practical skills, e.g. CPR, dealing with bleeding and wounds etc.

Topics covered on this course include:

  • Understanding the role and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Assessing an incident
  • Provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
  • Provide first aid to a casualty who is choking
  • Provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
  • Be able to conduct a secondary survey
  • Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock
  • Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with:
    • Minor injuries
    • Suspected injuries to bones, muscles and joints
    • Suspected chest injuries
    • Burns and scalds
    • An eye injury
    • Sudden poisoning
    • Anaphylaxis
    • Suspected major illness

This training course is delivered by experienced, fully trained first aid instructors and assessors.

We teach a maximum of 12 candidates per course, and the trainer to candidate ratio is 1:12.

For practical training, we allocate one manikin per 4 candidates.

Certification/Accreditation

On successful completion of the course candidates will receive a Qualsafe certificate.

Qualsafe awarding body certificates are emailed as soon as we receive them (usually within 2 weeks).

Course materials, refreshments and a light lunch are provided.
 

After booking

Joining instructions are sent by email – which are usually received on the same day but always within 48 hours of booking.
 

Courses start at 8.45am and finish at about 3.30pm.

Yes, free parking is available at all our UK training centres for course candidates.

Entry requirements

Delegates will need to be able to go to floor level to undertake CPR.
 

No – PPE is not required for this course.

Delegates must provide photographic ID, such as a passport or driving licence, before completing any course. The legal name on the ID will appear on the certificate. 

Delegates must also have an existing first aid certificate, which must be within one month of expiry at the time of sitting the course.

Yes. Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore English proficiency is required.

Great course, great venue, so much better than using that crappy portable tunnel thing, get rid of it. Instructor was so nice, put you at ease, great presentation work and made it easy to follow. Very enjoyable.

I attended Emergency First Aid Course. The trainer Dale was fab, made everything easy to understand and great knowledge too. Good to practice CPR, Defib and bandaging techniques too. Thanks very much - will definitely be back again when due.
