This 2-day Industrial at Height Rescue Technician course teaches advanced rescue techniques for complex environments. It is designed for those who have completed our 3-day Working Safely at Height and Technical Rescue course.

About this course

This course is highly practical, building upon the knowledge and skills gained in the 3-day Working Safely at Height and Technical Rescue course. It has approximately an 80/20 split, practical to theory.

Course Aims:

  • To give learners knowledge and understanding applicable to a range of typical work at height rescue scenarios
  • To give learners an understanding of different equipment, their uses and methods of rigging in a rescue setting
  • To increase the learner's practical knowledge of methods for rescue from height
  • To maintain personal and team safety during a rescue

Candidates will:

  • Work safely to protect themselves and other rescue personnel while rescuing from height
  • Enhance their rigging knowledge
  • Further their knowledge of work at height related manoeuvres
  • Gain the ability to install, utilise, rescue from and de-rig systems from ground level
  • Learn how to evacuate a casualty from a complex rescue scenario
  • Be familiar with a range of work at height equipment found in the workplace

This course is taught by highly experienced instructors who have extensive knowledge and experience of working at height.

The majority of our trainers are also real-life rescuers who have been part of emergency operations in the UK and around the world.

This course has a maximum capacity of 6 candidates. If you wish to train a larger group of employees, contact us to learn more about our bespoke training courses and on-site training units.

  • Practical training & assessment

Certification/Accreditation

To pass this course and receive certification, delegates must pass a written test and practical assessment. 

Those who complete the course can choose to receive an MRS Training & Rescue certificate or, for an additional fee, a City & Guilds Assured Product certificate. 

Certification lasts for 3 years. 

MRS certificates are emailed within a week of the course being completed. City & Guilds certificates are emailed as soon as we receive them (usually within 2 weeks).

After booking

Joining instructions are sent by email – which are usually received on the same day but always within 48 hours of booking.
 

Courses start at 8.45am and finish at about 3.30pm.

Entry requirements

Yes. Delegates must have completed the 3 day Working Safely at Height and Technical Rescue course before attending this course.

Delegates must provide photographic ID, such as a passport or driving licence, before completing any course. The legal name on the ID will appear on the certificate.

In addition, all candidates are required to bring the following PPE for practical exercises:

  • Hard hat
  • Workwear
  • Safety footwear
  • Gloves

Delegates must be physically fit for courses involving practical exercises and PPE. Key health conditions to consider include heart disease, respiratory issues (e.g., asthma), high blood pressure, epilepsy, vertigo, impaired limb function, uncorrected vision problems, and any substance dependencies. 

If unsure, employers should arrange a medical assessment. We reserve the right to refuse training to those deemed medically unfit. 

Delegates using manriding or fall arrest equipment must not exceed a weight limit of 127kg (20 stone). Customers may use their own equipment if the assessor confirms it is fit for purpose, properly calibrated, and compatible with course equipment.

Yes. Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore English proficiency is required.

Great course, great venue, so much better than using that crappy portable tunnel thing, get rid of it. Instructor was so nice, put you at ease, great presentation work and made it easy to follow. Very enjoyable.

I attended Emergency First Aid Course. The trainer Dale was fab, made everything easy to understand and great knowledge too. Good to practice CPR, Defib and bandaging techniques too. Thanks very much - will definitely be back again when due.
