This PASMA Towers for Users course is for anyone tasked with assembling, dismantling, moving, or inspecting 3T (Through The Trapdoor) and AGR (Advance Guard Rail) mobile towers. It meets all industry standards and WAH regulations.

About this course

On this PASMA Towers for Users course, delegates acquire the knowledge and skills needed to safely assemble, dismantle, move and inspect mobile access towers. They will also learn which PPE is best practice for these activities – and which equipment to use.

This course covers the following topics:

  • Legislation, regulations and guidance affecting working at height with mobile access towers
  • PASMA code of practice
  • EN1004:2004 product standards
  • Tower assembly and how to alter and dismantle them safely
  • Best practice for fall protection
  • Tower inspection
  • Completion of tower inspection records
  • Hazard awareness

Those who complete this course will:

  • Understand the relevant health and safety regulations
  • Be able to define the term “working at height”
  • Outline the principle requirements of working at height regulations
  • State their duties under the working at height regulations
  • Be fully aware of the needs regarding personal protective equipment
  • Demonstrate the safe inspection/use of mobile scaffolds
  • Inspect, assemble and erect a mobile tower scaffold
  • Know how to safely dismantle, relocate and alter a mobile access tower proficiently and safely

This course is taught by highly experienced PASMA approved instructors – all of whom have received substantial face-to-face training.

The instructor to candidate ratio is 1:12.

Certification/Accreditation

At the end of the theory session, delegates take a short test. On passing, they continue to the practical session in the afternoon. A practical assessment is conducted at the end of the afternoon, and on successful completion, a PASMA certificate and photo card is issued.

PASMA photo cards and certificates are posted as soon as we receive them (usually within a month).

After booking

Joining instructions are sent by email – which are usually received on the same day but always within 48 hours of booking.
 

Courses start at 8.45am and finish at about 3.30pm.

Entry requirements

Delegates must be physically fit for courses involving practical exercises and PPE. Key health conditions to consider include heart disease, respiratory issues (e.g., asthma), high blood pressure, epilepsy, vertigo, impaired limb function, uncorrected vision problems, and any substance dependencies. 

If unsure, employers should arrange a medical assessment. We reserve the right to refuse training to those deemed medically unfit. 

Delegates using manriding or fall arrest equipment must not exceed a weight limit of 127kg (20 stone). Customers may use their own equipment if the assessor confirms it is fit for purpose, properly calibrated, and compatible with course equipment.

Delegates must provide photographic ID, such as a passport or driving licence, before completing any course. The legal name on the ID will appear on the certificate.

In addition, all candidates are required to bring the following PPE for practical exercises:

  • Hard hat
  • Workwear
  • Safety footwear
  • Gloves

Yes. Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore English proficiency is required.

Great course, great venue, so much better than using that crappy portable tunnel thing, get rid of it. Instructor was so nice, put you at ease, great presentation work and made it easy to follow. Very enjoyable.

I attended Emergency First Aid Course. The trainer Dale was fab, made everything easy to understand and great knowledge too. Good to practice CPR, Defib and bandaging techniques too. Thanks very much - will definitely be back again when due.
