Job Description

MRS are looking for an experienced occupational health nurse to join our organisation to carry out occupational health medicals / assessments for our employees, and also to support and develop our aspiration to nurture the physical and mental health of all employees by enhancing the health and wellbeing provision across the business.  As such we would expect the successful candidate to explore various ways of promoting wellbeing across the organisation.

The role will entail regular travel between sites and will include overnight stays.

We are flexible and willing to consider part-time working options (minimum 3 days).

Within the role you will be expected to:

  • Establish arrangements for carrying occupational health medicals/ assessments for persons wearing various types of breathing apparatus, these would include:
    • Spirometry
    • Audiometry
    • Fitness assessment
    • Drug and alcohol testing
    • Taking blood samples for external testing
  • Conduct face fit testing for various breathing apparatus (training/ qualification will be provided)
  • Conduct ‘mines rescue’ medicals for third party organistions
  • Conduct ‘new starter’ health assessments
  • Liaise with GPs, physiotherapists, or other specialists
  • Work closely with the HR team to support the management of absence, including long term absence and return to work
  • Assist the operational and safety functions with incorporating any necessary health provisions ion to risk assessment and operational procedures

We are looking for someone that has a passion for occupational health, and the enthusiasm to drive and support the development of an internal capability for the organisation.

The persons would ideally be supported with either a degree in Nursing or Occupational Health Nursing Qualification (Diploma Level Minimum) and three years clinical nursing experience, and two years occupational health nursing experience.
