You can come to us; we can come to you.
We’re always looking for new ways to spread the word about how to improve the safety of working in confined spaces and at height.
That’s where our fully equipped, state of the art mobile training units are designed to provide everything we require to teach confined space, breathing apparatus and working safely at height training and assessment at a customers’ premises if preferred.
Our units can simulate conditions and situations found within confined spaces and at height, so course attendees can learn practical skills anywhere. For the confined space training, we simulate how to work in a safe manner while in a potentially dangerous environment and then create emergency situations where candidates are taught to respond and escape in a safe manner.
All our units are towable – meaning we can be on your site when needed. From our units we can provide both training and competence assessments.
The mobile training unit carries a comprehensive range of equipment – everything a delegate needs to complete the simulated exercises.
These mobile training units offer you:
- A controlled environment for training
- Designed to simulate a range of working environments
- Simulates various entry techniques
- City and Guilds accredited for confined space training
- Cost saving – no need for delegates to travel, so saving time and money
- Independently sited, not requiring connections to services
- Quick set up time
Specific features incorporated into our mobile training unis include:
- 30m of internal crawl space across two tiers that allows for a variety of training scenarios
-
3.1m vertical entry - internal stairway access to roof-mounted external training platform with tripod and winch system
- Electrohydraulic remote controlled handrail system that creates a fully enclosed, safe platform for training
- Non-slip safety deck to enable training to be undertaken safely in wet or damp conditions
- Camera System with eight-night vision cameras installed in the training tunnels
- Internal and external viewing screens, allowing continual monitoring of all activity and shared learning with delegates
- Smoke machine that distributes smoke into upper and lower compartments
- Inbuilt lighting
- 5 x EN795 anchors on roof for work at height work restraint training
- 5 m ladder with inertia reel shock block for twin hook lanyard training

What will I do on a confined space training course?
Our confined space training courses are designed to provide anyone who may need to work in a confined space, with the knowledge to do so in a safe manner. The theory that you learn in the classroom will be supported by several practical exercises that simulate how to prepare for entry, work safely and recognise hazards and respond correctly in the event of an emergency, as well as and how to work in a safe manner whilst in a potentially dangerous situation.
We provide a range of practical confined space training courses for those that are expecting to operate in these types of space. All of practical courses comply with current regulations, the National Occupational Standards and the revised suite of City and Guild Qualifications (C&G 6160). As part of the City & Guilds 6160 qualifications MRS provide low risk confined space training courses, medium risk training courses, high risk confined space training courses, and rescue from confined spaces training courses.
Are there other confined space training courses for those that are responsible for managing and supervising confined spaces?
Yes. In addition to the practical confined space courses, we also offer courses for those with responsibilities for managing confined spaces, supervising confined space operations, and controlling entry.
What if I have responsibility for rescue arrangements?
At MRS Training & Rescue we offer two rescue courses. One is for anyone responsible for developing and implementing rescue arrangements. Our other course is a practical course that allows you to learn, develop and practice a range of rescue techniques. The training for a rescue operative can cover a range of scenarios, from low risk (not requiring breathing apparatus) through to high-risk scenarios where the use of breathing apparatus is likely and needs to be adequately controlled.
How long does the qualification last?
All our confined space course certificates have a 3-year lifespan. We also can provide re-assessment courses if required.
What work at height training does the mobile training unit offer?
Our mobile units include all the equipment delegates need to complete our working safely at height training course. Delegates will learn how to use ladders safely, ascend and descend from height safely and the correct and safe use of lanyards, fall arrest and fall restraint equipment.
We are also able to develop bespoke training courses by consulting and working with our customers. So if not all aspects of our course are required by your organisation, don’t hesitate to contact us, and we can put together packages that suit your needs, and can be delivered at your site.
