BREATHING APPARATUS USER (INITIAL COURSE)
Breaks for refreshments are included in this overall total
This Open Circuit Breathing Apparatus course is for those who are required to wear breathing apparatus for respiratory protection as part of their job role – or in cases of emergency.
This course teaches those who attend how to inspect, put on, wear and take off open circuit breathing apparatus – and the aftercare of such equipment. This course is taught for those who work in industrial environments – and is not for those who may need this training for firefighting or emergency work.
This course is a mixture of theory and practical training - delegates are required to be clean-shaven as facial hair could prevent a good seal between the wearer’s face and the breathing apparatus mask.
Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore, candidates for this type of training must be able to understand and speak the English language.
On this course – delegates will learn how to wear and use open circuit breathing apparatus. Delegates will learn how to inspect and use the apparatus safely – so they are able to undertake specific jobs in their workplace.
This course will teach delegates about the safe working periods when using breathing apparatus (BA) – and simple BA calculations. Delegates will also learn about the relevant legislation – and how to carry out pre-wear checks, put on, clean and store BA.
This course is highly practical – and delegates will learn and use equipment in simulated confined spaces.
Topics covered:

Out of the three different breathing apparatus trainers I have used over the years I can say MRS Training & Rescue have been by far the most authentic and pragmatic and have the best training galleries.
Equipment is of a high standard, and the trainers know exactly what they're doing and talking about, and we're always happy to help.
Good practical hands-on sessions coupled with classroom work. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
