This Rescue & Recovery from Confined Spaces (Non-BA) course is for those who require training to be able to rescue and recover casualties from confined spaces – should an emergency arise.

Candidates on this course will experience being part of a rescue team and will be expected to set up and check rescue equipment for use in an emergency scenario. During the training scenario, delegates will learn how to work enter, work safely and recover a casualty in a simulated confined space.

Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore, candidates for this type of training must be able to understand and speak the English language.

Please note – this training does not include the wearing of breathing apparatus (BA).

This course is a combination of lectures, demonstrations and practical training in a simulated confined space environment. During the course delegates will learn theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to safely rescue and recover casualties from a confined space – including; locating a casualty, treating injuries, loading to a stretcher and transporting a casualty from a confined space.

After completing this course, delegates will be able to:

  • Rescue and recover casualties from confined spaces
  • Check and use rescue equipment safely
  • Enter and exit confined spaces safely
  • Prepare to work safely in confined spaces, under emergency conditions
  • Follow procedures for rescue and recovery in confined spaces
