We employ Associates who provide additional support to our rescue teams and business during times of peak demand.
If you are looking for flexible working and have experience and qualifications in confined space rescue or working in other hazardous or high-risk environments, then this could be the perfect role for you
Our associates are employed by us
As one of our associates, you will be employed by MRS Training & Rescue on a zero-hours contract and will work alongside existing colleagues as part of a small team, providing confined space rescue cover, emergency escape, rescue and associated services.
The role is varied and will involve working midweek, weekends, and bank holidays during peak demand to meet business needs, at customer’s sites or one of our other training centres. So, it is important you are willing to travel and spend occasional nights away to meet the needs of the business.
Flexible working to suit you
Being an associate means you will not have fixed contractual hours of work, and several of our current associates hold down another job as well. Many are serving emergency service workers who may work shift patterns enabling them to also work for us. We contact you as and when we have a business need and, subject to your availability, expect you to be able to work for whatever hours we reasonably require. So, a flexible approach is essential.
Steps to becoming an associate
Being a rescue operative can be physically demanding so, as with all our rescue operatives, you will be required to undertake an annual medical / fitness test and must retain your fitness to work with us.
We also pay for any continual professional development training that you may need to keep up your level of competency. You will be annually assessed to ensure you meet the required standards so you must be willing to undertake personal training and development.
You also must hold a full valid driving licence.
Benefits of joining us an an associate
As well as continual professional development and flexible working, being one of our associates offers you:
- Holiday entitlement – based on the number of days you have worked during our year that runs April to March, we will pay an annual payment for holiday due with your March salary.
-
Pension - you will be enrolled in the Company’s qualifying scheme under the Government’s Automatic Enrolment Pension Initiative if you meet the qualifying criteria.
-
Full PPE and uniform will be provided free of charge
