Our purpose-built Southampton training centre is located on the popular Abbey Park Industrial Estate in Romsey. It is easily accessible from all areas of Hampshire, the South East and the South West – and we provide free parking for all course attendees.
We offer a diverse array of training courses at our Southampton centre, tailored for various industries. All our courses are conducted in well-appointed classrooms and dedicated training areas designed for practical learning.
Courses are instructed by highly qualified trainers, the majority of whom have current or past experience as rescuers.
Facilities
Our Southampton training centre offers a diverse range of facilities tailored for professional development and safety training. Featuring four dedicated training rooms, we ensure ample space for immersive learning experiences.
Standout among our offerings is our confined space facility, meticulously crafted to replicate real-world scenarios. With 5 rooms, a network of crawl spaces, 11 tunnels, and platforms up to 6 meters in length, this environment caters to specialised training needs. Artificial smoke can be added for enhanced realism.
Standing 9 metres high, our indoor scaffold access system serves as a versatile platform for Working at Height training. Equipped with ladders, trap doors, guardrails, and more, it enables comprehensive skill development, including suspended rescue.
Additionally, we provide a mobile tower for PASMA training and specialised facilities for maritime industry training. These include a two-story fire rig for STCW fire training and a dry life raft training area for STCW certification.
Confined Space courses
We are well-known as one of the UK’s leading confined space training providers – and from our Southampton centre, we provide a wide range of confined spaces courses including low, medium and high risk training.
We also provide other confined space services including confined space consultancy – a service where we come to your site, factory, office or ship to identify any risk you may face and any training you need to be compliant.
Additionally, we offer a rescue cover service, deploying a dedicated rescue team to your business as needed.
Enclosed Space courses
Our enclosed space training facility faithfully recreates real-world conditions, enabling candidates to acquire essential skills through hands-on, practical exercises.
All our confined space and enclosed space courses are designed to teach candidates:
- Safe enclosed and confined space entry
- How to work in a safe manner
- How to escape in emergency situations
STCW Basic Safety Training Courses
We offer all 5 modules of the MCA regulated STCW basic safety training required for individuals embarking on commercial sea-going vessels. These are:
- Elementary First Aid (EFA)
- Personal Survival Techniques (PST)
- Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (FPFF)
- Personal Safety & Social Responsibility (PSSR)
- Proficiency in Security Awareness (PSA)
Each course can be taken individually as well.

We recently had a 3-day Advanced Working at Height & Rescue course at MRS Training & Rescue. This was a very informative course and vital for anyone working at height. The training facility is very good with a great instructor. We have gained vital knowledge on which equipment to use in which situation and how to use, maintain & inspect it. I would highly recommend this course. We now have the correct training to tackle awkward gutters at height :-)
