Our purpose-built Southampton training centre is located on the popular Abbey Park Industrial Estate in Romsey. It is easily accessible from all areas of Hampshire, the South East and the South West – and we provide free parking for all course attendees.
From here, we deliver a wide range of quality health and safety training courses suitable for a variety of industries, including:

High risk confined space rescue cover
At our Southampton training centre we can provide highly specialised confined space rescue and safety cover that can be tailored to meet your exact requirements and complies with Regulation 5 of the Confined Spaces Regulations 1997.
Our highly skilled team:
- Are experienced and competent in rescue and recovery of casualties from confined spaces
- Regularly train in casualty recovery using a range of confined space equipment and scenarios
- Are fully trained in first aid, the use of oxygen resuscitators, analgesic equipment (pain killing) and defibrillators

Confined Spaces Courses
Across the UK we are well-known as one of the UK’s leading confined space training providers – and from this Southampton centre, we provide a wide range of confined spaces courses including; low, medium and high risk training.
We also provide other confined space services including confined space consultancy – a service where we come to your site, factory, office or ship to identify any risk you may face and any training you need to be compliant. In addition to this, we provide rescue cover service where we can provide rescue services and provide a rescue team to your business when it is required.
Enclosed Spaces Courses
Our enclosed space training facility replicates real conditions – helping candidates learn the skills they need in a realistic environment. All our confined space and enclosed space courses are designed to teach candidates:
- Safe enclosed and confined space entry
- How to work in a safe manner
- How to escape in emergency situations
STCW Basic Safety Training Courses
We offer all 5 modules of the MCA regulated STCW basic safety training that are essential for anyone working on board a commercial sea going vessel, before they can work at sea. These are:
- Elementary First Aid (EFA)
- Personal Survival Techniques (PST)
- Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (FPFF)
- Personal Safety & Social Responsibility (PSSR)
- Proficiency in Security Awareness (PSA)
Each course can be taken individually as well.

I recently undertook an STCW course at this training centre the only thing better than the content were the tutors. Everyone at MRS really wants to see you pass and to help you get the best out of yourself during the course. Not only did the swimming pool that the centre usually use cancel due to an accidental double booking but some equipment we were meant to be training with was stolen the morning of one of the exams. MRS staff dealt with this swiftly and effectively by changing the pool and going to buy new equipment on the same day it was stolen to ensure we as the students still got the most out of the course. The pace of content is rapid due to the condensed course but there seemed to always be space to ask questions and make sure each of us understood the principles we were being taught. I couldn't recommend anywhere else in the UK that I would have had as much fun learning.
