Confined spaces have the potential to become dangerous places to work in, and it is important that anyone working in a confined space understands possible hazards that could arise.

Working in confined spaces is dangerous and is not to be taken lightly. Even after the introduction of the ‘Confined Spaces Regulations (1997) in January 1998, there have been fatalities and injuries as a result of people working in confined spaces, due to specified risks.

The Global Wind Organisation (GWO) has introduced two new training standards. These are Advanced Rescue Training (ART) and Enhanced First Aid (EFA) - our training facility at Crossgates in Fife is one of the first training providers that has been approved to deliver these courses.

Every year, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) marks World Day for Safety – and this year, celebrated 100 years of work to improve occupational health and safety.

On Saturday the 10th November 2018, organisations and the public gathered for Millennium Green Trust’s Three Oaks planting ceremony. The tree planting event – Three Oaks to Remember paid respects to those who lost their lives in the First World War, and saw Celebrant Andrea Garlick explain the devastating effects of the war which ended 100 years ago on the day of the ceremony.
