This 3 day Working Safely at Height and Technical Rescue course combines our 1 day Working Safely at Height course, with additional training in rescue techniques. The course aims to:

  • Give learners knowledge and understanding relevant to working at height.
  • Give candidates an understanding of ladders, access systems, fall prevention and fall arrest systems, and relevant PPE for working at height.
  • Give learners knowledge and understanding of work positioning and working from suspended lines.
  • Give candidates an understanding of anchors, edge protection, secondary back-up systems, ascending and descending using mechanical devices
  • Ensure learners have the knowledge and skills to facilitate a rescue from height.

This course is only available from MRS Training & Rescue, taught exclusively at our training centres across the UK – and includes practical training which takes place in simulated work at height situations. It is available as a City & Guilds to Assured Product Certificate for an additional fee of £30.

Due to the nature of the training course and the emphasis placed on communication, there is only a provision for the assessments to be undertaken in English. Therefore, candidates for this type of training must be able to understand and speak the English language.

  • Fall arrest

  • Edge protection
  • Anchors
  • Using mechanical descenders

In addition to this, this course also covers the following topics:

  • Safe ascent and descent (ladders, scaffolding, mobile towers etc.)
  • Rescue from height (conscious and unconscious casualties)
  • Rescue equipment (casualty immobilisation devices, stretchers etc.)

Went for Working at heights and technical rescue. Best facilities I've seen for a training centre. Plenty of top class equipment to use and lots of different physical set ups to test various scenarios. Great teaching too from Luke. Feel very confident working and conducting rescues now.
Gabriel Brown
Excellent course, tailored to our needs in the vessels and the final scenario was very close to what we would encounter.
Thomas Purvin
Really good course. I was completely new to ropes and had no experience in this industry. Gus is very knowledgeable and was extremely friendly and patient throughout the course and made everything very easy to understand. I feel like I've learned a lot and would happily come back for follow up courses.
